WAR MEMORIALS     Datchet may be unique in having three war memorials in the village

The Crucifix on the London Road approach to Datchet was made possible by the generosity of Mr and Miss Curling;   such memorials are also known as Wayside Shrines.

The Women of Datchet raised the money for the Celtic Cross just inside the boundary wall of  St  Mary's  Church.

The main memorial, The Obelisk, on the South Green was funded through the efforts of a Parish                                                    Council committee and enjoyed a well attended unveiling ceremony.
